I Am Ready

Sunday is a day we schedule for my parallel parking practice. Last Sunday was skipped because it was dark and raining all day. Since it was so sunny and beautiful today, we went to the usual place, DMV and did my practice. We didn't stay there long for the first time ever, 20 minutes at the most. I only did 3 or 4 times parking and that was it. My husband was quite happy of what I did. I guess I familiarized myself now of the proper techniques of parallel parking and today I did it.

I even asked him if we can set a schedule for my road test next Friday and he agreed to it. So that means, I AM READY TO TAKE THE TEST? Wow awesome! I can't wait and I hope this time I will be able to pass the exam so I can get my driver license. If that's gonna happen, that's gonna be my greatest accomplishment this year!

Parallel Parking

Everybody hates doing or practicing parallel parking. Why of all the steps in driving it is the very or most difficult thing to do? I am a lefty and you can only imagine when I try to do the parallel park, things aren't easy for me because my brain and hands aren't coordinating. It sucks yeah but hey I am very eager to get the license soon so whether I like it or not I have to master the parallel park.

Even my friends who just have their licenses admitted to me that they were having difficulty mastering the parallel park too and take note, they are right-handed. One thing I am not so good about is the reverse. oh well, could be because I am conscious if somebody is watching me. I tried doing the reverse a few times without my husband in the car and I did it just fine. When he's with me, I always hit the curb haha!

Tired

I did most of the driving today going to grocery shopping. I don't understand why I feel very tired while we didn't go far. I only did stop at least three places today but for some reason I feel like I drove for two hours. We stopped by the bank to get me some cash then to the grocery store by Hulen then to the upscale neighborhood to look at some good roofs and walls of the houses there (my husband drove their a bit to take a tour) then we switched seats again and drove off home.

The weather is so nice, traffic is kind of slow maybe that caused me being tired or it's just one of those preggy days when I don't want to do anything but sleep and sleep all day instead of going somewhere driving?? Whatever the reason is, nobody knows. All I care about right now is finish my online tasks and doze off.

Arggggsssssss.....Parking Sucks

I've been driving with the use of a driving permit for maybe over a year now yet I feel I still have a lot of things to know about driving. Every time I go drive, I somehow feel like I screw everything up. My husband is with me when I get behind the wheels and you know what? He always has criticisms of my driving which is forgivable to me which is understandable and I do believe he is right.. He just wants me to be a better driver. I hate myself for I am so clumsy and careless. Knowing also that he's a kind of person that expects perfection in everything he does so he also expects perfection from his wife.

Things I do that really get into his nerves are; driving our car in reverse into a curb, turning without looking in front of me that I almost hit another car, doing wide right turns which according to him scares other drivers behind me, not slowing down when there's a low area etc.etc. and worse, MY PARALLEL PARKING SUCKS! He uttered YOUR PARKING SUCKS when I drove him to the Chinese restaurant last weekend, I wanted to get the shady parking space but couldn't do it, too awkward for me if I park to my left.

I should have learned to correct these things long before but why do I mess it up whenever I drive? I must admit, I am the kind of person that takes a while to learn everything. In rare occasions, he'd yell at me and reprimand me like a daughter, ergggggssssssss..but I don't take it seriously for it is just normal for a husband to be nervous. We have a baby in the backseat and he wants me to do what is right.

I am taking my time though, I am in no competition with anybody, I'm in no rush getting a driver's license but I can't help to wish I have DL so I can just do errands without depending on my husband. One big thing about being a student driver for so long though is that I'VE GAINED MY CONFIDENCE on the road, I don't find myself shivering anymore. I feel confident driving both the freeways and service roads which I commend myself for that. Good job me!

Hohoho My Car Doesn't Like Me

My car doesn't like me! That's what my husband says. I drove to send Jadyn to her class this morning, the air conditioning was still working as it had just been fixed. From the gymnasium we went across the street so I can practice parallel parking, one thing my husband noticed was the air conditioner wasn't working properly at all. After the practice I drove home and it proved to us that the car doesn't really like me for it was just blowing plain air, not a cold one.

I asked my husband if he feels sorry for the car and he said yes. Poor car! What am I gonna do? I am this reckless, clumsy and rough woman that just learned how to drive a car. If it doesn't like me, nothing I can do about that except change another car which is impossible to happen.

Ready For A Road Test

I feel I am ready for a road test anytime soon. I just have the confidence in me now driving both freeway and service or city roads. I don't have those chills or nervousness anymore I felt during the first few driving. Now I am good to go! I just have to wait for my husband's signal though when he says I should take the test, I trust him once he says that, that would only be mean one thing that I am driving good with no mistakes.

However, if I do drive, I think the trip to the grocery store will be the only place I am going to at first then as I get used to drive along with other thousands of drivers by then I will be able to go farther than five miles. No hurry in getting a license though, I have no job to think about nor do I have obligations to go outside everyday that requires driving.

Me Driving On A Freeway

I am getting there! I just have to practice myself to be more vigilant and more careful when changing lanes not to hit other cars then I'll be good. I hate it when I change lane even if I see someone in the next lane yet I turn the steering wheel that could give me accident one day if I wouldn't change my habit. Thankfully I always make sure my husband is beside me whenever I drive so he could help my driving to perfection.
..... yes this is yours truly here driving on a freeway at 65 miles per hour. I drove when we left from San Antonio going to Cabela's which is an hour away from the starting point. Yes, I have no more chills nor fear driving on a freeway but one thing I am concern about is I am having difficulty maintaining my speed. For some reason, I find it hard keeping the speedometer at a steady speed. Aside from that, I still have minor imperfections but those aren't serious and can be perfected when I can drive often.

Although I am now rated A- fro my husband yet I still have my flaws. I still think I'm still practicing how to drive. Eventually I hope I can be one of those drivers that think of myself and others' safety while on the road. I am taking my time though. I am not such in a hurry in getting a driver's license.

Freeway And Chills

I am glad I got to drive twice this weekend. I drove to the usual road last Friday going to Walmart for grocery shopping. Then today on the freeway going back home. I sure enjoyed my freeway driving though but before I could get to the freeway, I was taking the service road from Home Depot and I failed to stop at the STOP sign, again! Second offense for this week's driving. The first offense was last Friday, I ran a red light around here in Edgecliff Village. I was turning right and I was thinking, well, the light was red and I am going right it doesn't matter.

Anyhow, according to my husband, I should have brought the car to a complete stop before proceeding right. He told me, if it was a road test I could have failed the test right there and then. Naks! Shame on me but I am still thankful it happened for it taught me a lesson.

However, when driving next time I will remember those offenses and I will never do it again for the sake of my safety and for other people. Furthermore, driving in a freeway today was smooth and easier for me this time. I tell you what? I don't feel that chills and nervousness anymore. Unlike the first few driving in fast roads, I was really shaking in my knees, hands cold and couldn't think straight. Those were gone now, how happy I am. I drove all the way from Lake Worth to home, I guess that is ten or 15 miles away... Way to go Anne! Haha!

Driving Offenses for Today

Offense #1, leaving the headlight on for an hour that led the battery dead, couldn't start the car@ Walmart's parking lot. Husband asked help from the security in there, used an emergency cable to start up the battery and it worked. Then.. continue reading...

Offense #2, almost hit the car right in front of me 'coz I meant to reverse but put the gear on DRIVE. It could have been a big disaster if I wasn't quick enough to step on the break.

Offense # 3, if I stayed in my lane, the big truck in the other side of the road could have moved and not waiting on me... I took big space in busy roads tonight!!! S-C-A-R-E-D -D- H-E-L-L -O-U-T-O-F -M-Y H-U-S-B-A-N-D!!!

And today's rating/grading??? C- . And I accept that with my whole heart for I know I was wrong.

7 Out Of 10

My husband was forced to give me his blatant answer when I asked him what's his rating for me in my driving. I kept asking him that because I need to know where I stand you know? As honest as he was he said I am on 7. Oh well, I take it with all my heart as I don't think it's that bad. I only need to do better for the rest of my practices so I can get the 3 remaining points then I'll be good to apply for a road test.

My husband simply doesn't feel comfortable yet when I'm driving, that would only mean there are still a lot of things I need to know on the road, getting self confidence, staying in my lane, and most of all practice smooth turns and if those things can be achieved weeeeww I'll be one of the drivers in Texas in God's perfect time.

Driving Once A Week

I can only do my practice driving once a week which I believe is good enough rather than not having practice to drive at all. I drove to the grocery store today of course with family in tow and it was good. Good because there was no blowing of horns again hehe. Although I rate my driving as 6 out of 10 but it's ok, my husband on the other hand keep giving me critiques on how I drive. He says I drive too slow sometimes and other times I drive too fast. Heck, I'm still practicing ya know?

I am not upset with him though. He may not know it but I appreciate his patience with me. Unlike before my first few practices when we were still living in El Campo, we were like enemies in the car, yelling and shouting everytime I make a mistake.

For now I don't feel like I can pass the road test so I am just taking it easy. I don't feel confident driving alone either so no choice but keep my practice going until the right time comes. Driver license will come probably before or mid summer. Cross fingers with that!

No Blowing Of Horns

I must admit that I still have a lot of things to learn on the road while driving. I myself know that I am having hard time keeping in my lane but I can work it out if only I can drive so often. Service road lanes often too small for me (that's what I feel) but I do good in the freeway though.

It must be a thankful Sunday for me and to my family here since we came home safely and me driving going back and forth to the grocery store. I asked my husband how many miles did I drive today and he is so good for he is not keeping track of the mileage. geeeeezzz.. Another thing to be thankful for is that I did not put my family in danger today. I did good haha yabang for I did not receive blowing of horns from other drivers today. And to me... that is all that matters for now.

I Got Buzzed Again

So nice of my husband for allowing me to drive in the freeway again today. It was my second time driving in a 60 mph road going to Lowe's. At first it was smooth, then from the service road joining the freeway the car in front of me was kind of slow and I was doing 60 still. I was so scared that I could hit him and so my goal was to move to the left lane... I was already panicking a little bit so all I want to do is get to the other lane and I saw the car so close to me and when I get panic, I lose my mind for a while so I steered to the left then the car buzzed me...Weeew it was scary for I almost kissed the side of the other car. This is the second time it happened to me.

Nganu man jud ko oi kakita ko naay car coming lisoon man jud naku ang manibela? Ambrot sa langaw. Then from Lowe's we went to Walmart right away which I don't know how many miles far but for me it was on the other side of the globe. I was relaxed while driving on the way there as I know I wasn't in the freeway anymore.

Generally, I did all the driving today with a baby in the backseat. I don't shiver that much anymore too and for me it's a lot of progress for myself but of course there are still so many things to learn while on the road. I am positive though that I will get better in the long run and hopefully apply for a driver's license before Summer starts.

I Can't Quit Now

I was in my bravest self this afternoon. I couldn't believe we made it safe home (although I almost hit the car behind me in the other lane), all in all it was a fun and nice try to be driving in a freeway of 60 mph. The first time ever I drove to a very fast speed and absolutely not my last drive there either. Now that I've conquered my fear nothing can stop me from practicing more of my driving and hopefully get my driver's license.

As a matter of fact, I didn't know my husband had a plan of bringing me to the freeway going to Kohls and return something. I couldn't say no yet nervous. Wow that was amazing! After our business inside the store I practiced backing up in the parking lot a bit then I drove back home anxiously. That is when I was buzzed by other driver.

I got buzzed when I was about to change lanes, the reason is that I wasn't watching of the cars in my side before changing lane and that I was thankful my husband was so fast in maneuvering the steering wheel a little bit back to my lane! It scared the hell out of me, you know that?

How Did My Driving Go?

Well, generally, I liked it and so anxious to practice more! I liked my instructor, she was nice and soft on me. I only had the two hours of practice today which is the longest of all the practices I had before. Most of the whole two hours was spent practicing on parallel parking. I did it a couple times and guess what it was an absolutely different experience with a paid instructor than doing it with my husband. I thought it was easier this time and I did my parallel parking quite good although I need more practice.

When my husband taught me how to do it last weekend, I couldn't seem to get the car to the proper parallel parking position for some reason I don't know!!!! On the other hand, I've no choice but let my husband teaches me again because we cannot keep paying the instructor for the rest of my practices just because it's so damn expensive eh, 96 bucks for just two hours...

Then, the woman let me drove back home in a busy street going all through the signaling, stopping, and crossing lanes. Huh it was funny for I just cross across the lanes instead of doing each lane first before turning around.

Finally, we finished the remaining minutes of my actual driving in our neighborhood, I practiced turning gently, stopping where I should stop and that is all.
