I Am Ready

Sunday is a day we schedule for my parallel parking practice. Last Sunday was skipped because it was dark and raining all day. Since it was so sunny and beautiful today, we went to the usual place, DMV and did my practice. We didn't stay there long for the first time ever, 20 minutes at the most. I only did 3 or 4 times parking and that was it. My husband was quite happy of what I did. I guess I familiarized myself now of the proper techniques of parallel parking and today I did it.

I even asked him if we can set a schedule for my road test next Friday and he agreed to it. So that means, I AM READY TO TAKE THE TEST? Wow awesome! I can't wait and I hope this time I will be able to pass the exam so I can get my driver license. If that's gonna happen, that's gonna be my greatest accomplishment this year!

Sneaking Out The House

I don't know what the future holds for me. I sneak out the house once in a while when I am bored. I don't go far though, only to Walmart and pick up some important grocery stuff or at the nearest Goodwill store just outside our neighborhood. I am waiting for the day that my husband approve of me taking a road test.

Every Sunday, when the weather permits we go DMV in Alta Mesa and practice parallel parking there. Great idea for it is going to be exactly where I take my road test. I asked the husband one Sunday if I can do the road test anytime soon and he said, not yet...I am not quite ready for it yet. He is basing on how I do my parallel parking practice and adding the fact he is a PERFECTIONIST type of person so hmmmmmm what can I do? I don't wanna insist either for in the end, if I fail the test it's just gonna be me that gets humiliated lol...

Tired

I did most of the driving today going to grocery shopping. I don't understand why I feel very tired while we didn't go far. I only did stop at least three places today but for some reason I feel like I drove for two hours. We stopped by the bank to get me some cash then to the grocery store by Hulen then to the upscale neighborhood to look at some good roofs and walls of the houses there (my husband drove their a bit to take a tour) then we switched seats again and drove off home.

The weather is so nice, traffic is kind of slow maybe that caused me being tired or it's just one of those preggy days when I don't want to do anything but sleep and sleep all day instead of going somewhere driving?? Whatever the reason is, nobody knows. All I care about right now is finish my online tasks and doze off.

Arggggsssssss.....Parking Sucks

I've been driving with the use of a driving permit for maybe over a year now yet I feel I still have a lot of things to know about driving. Every time I go drive, I somehow feel like I screw everything up. My husband is with me when I get behind the wheels and you know what? He always has criticisms of my driving which is forgivable to me which is understandable and I do believe he is right.. He just wants me to be a better driver. I hate myself for I am so clumsy and careless. Knowing also that he's a kind of person that expects perfection in everything he does so he also expects perfection from his wife.

Things I do that really get into his nerves are; driving our car in reverse into a curb, turning without looking in front of me that I almost hit another car, doing wide right turns which according to him scares other drivers behind me, not slowing down when there's a low area etc.etc. and worse, MY PARALLEL PARKING SUCKS! He uttered YOUR PARKING SUCKS when I drove him to the Chinese restaurant last weekend, I wanted to get the shady parking space but couldn't do it, too awkward for me if I park to my left.

I should have learned to correct these things long before but why do I mess it up whenever I drive? I must admit, I am the kind of person that takes a while to learn everything. In rare occasions, he'd yell at me and reprimand me like a daughter, ergggggssssssss..but I don't take it seriously for it is just normal for a husband to be nervous. We have a baby in the backseat and he wants me to do what is right.

I am taking my time though, I am in no competition with anybody, I'm in no rush getting a driver's license but I can't help to wish I have DL so I can just do errands without depending on my husband. One big thing about being a student driver for so long though is that I'VE GAINED MY CONFIDENCE on the road, I don't find myself shivering anymore. I feel confident driving both the freeways and service roads which I commend myself for that. Good job me!

Don't Drink And Drive

It took me quite a few years before I decided to pursue my practice in driving due to the fact that Texas is such a huge state and there are millions of people driving everywhere. Knowing the huge number of people that drive everyday scares me to death because there are reckless drivers everywhere and accidents do happen anytime anywhere when you least expect it. In Texas too many Mexicans get involved in drunk driving and often times they don't have their license and car insurance that makes it difficult and left your own insurance pay for the damaged cars and other bills when you yourself get involved in a drunk driving.

However, I am now brave enough to take the risk getting behind the wheels because I don't want to be in prison anymore. It feels like I'm a prisoner in our house for I cannot go to places I want to go without dragging my husband with me. Whatever it takes just to get myself a driver's license I'll do it.

Anyways, let's go back to accidents caused by drunk driving. Weird Proposal

As days pass by, I feel ashamed of myself for the thought of me turning four years of living here in America this coming March. Why? Because all those years wasted by not being able to drive. Yes, I did practice a couple times before but I wasn't motivated enough to learn to drive and be confident behind the wheels so here I am, still stuck in the house and I feel like crippled.

Last night, I had an open proposal to my husband. I asked him if he could allow me and the baby to spend half and half here and in the Philippines. What I mean is 6 months in the Philippines and 6 months here so I don't get too bored and homesick during times like these where I cannot go out simply because I can't drive.

He thought it was weird! He then added, "what you gonna cost me hundreds of dollars?" because he knew if I stay in the Philippines too long, he's gonna support us every month haha, smart guy. I replied, "no because I am going to look for a job over there, applying in the call center maybe".

Inspite of my encouragement, it doesn't seem to be convincing enough for him to allow us and just go with my deal. Instead he told me, there is no job in the Philippines for you! After that conversation, I came to realize whether to learn how to drive or rot in the corner of the house. It's up to me and to him when he gonna send me to the driving school.
