Fun Time With Girl Friends

The photo above is a shot of me and my other Filipina friends at the Johnson's residence. Ate Marites, the oldest among us who is married for 26 years taught us some massage techniques that we could apply to our husband. She also taught us some valuable tips on how to keep the marriage going. I admire her for being humble and helpful for us who just started building our own family. I take her as an example so my marriage will prosper and last a lifetime.

Can you tell just by looking at the photo that we had so much fun being together at the same time learning how to massage our spouses? I really had a blast that night that I wasn't ready to go home but we had to, it was getting late and I don't want my husband thinking about me taking advantage of the chance I was out of the house.

Post Celebration

I invited friends over yesterday so they can help me finish a whole fruit of jackfruit not thinking about celebrating my US citizenship but then when they start arriving, each greeted me because I am now a US citizen. How nice of them. I served them just "inato lang" foods, nothing special as long as I can have something to offer them....then the jackfruit as dessert.

They were here for four hours and I tell you what? I really enjoyed their company. There were 6 Filipinas in total doing karaoke afterwards. That was fun and real loud. When my husband came home from work he said that he could hear us from the street. I thought he was just kidding about that but then when I asked him again later, he said he could really hear us!

Summer Fun And Driving

We beat the heat of summer yesterdy with the sisters Annie and Irish in Bedford Boys Ranch. It was a sort of farewell pool party for Irish for she is leaving tomorrow back home to Pennsylvania. We had a blast really. Four hours of soaking our body in the pool water seemed not enough. We stayed there until the closing, if they didn't turn off all the water fountain, we wouldn't leave the area for we were just lovin' it there for a price of five entrance fee, sulit gajud.

Well, to get to Annie's place it takes us 30 minutes drive and take note, I was the one driving going to her house. I know I have been saying that I am driving now on the freeway and that I am no longer scared driving along with other fast cars. Weeee I seemed to develop an immunity to it. That was the longest and farthest drive I've ever driven so far. Way to go myself!

Furthermore, Tony- Annie's husband was working yesterday so we had no one to drive us to Boys Ranch which isn't far actually. It only takes 2 minutes when driving but we walked our ass to where the pool is. So we walked for more than ten minutes under the hot scorching sun with kids and other heavy stuff in tow. We were so exhausted and we exclaimed that we'll never do it again for it wasn't easy at all. When we got there we were so happy and thought the long walk was worth it after all.

.... us by the street resting for a while for it really was so hot...
..... can you tell we are having so much fun
...Irish, Bigail and I after hours and hours soaked in the water, we turned into a charcoal
.....with my baby on the noodle.
.......she has her own world, contented of playing by herself

Memories From The Past

People come and go in our lives. They are part of what we are now. Without them, life would be so lonely. "No man is an island" as what the saying goes and I can't imagine life without good friends that help create such wonderful memories that is worth keeping. I so missed my old kaberks back during my UCTC days.

Yes, I do have my new set of friends now but I still long to be with my old friends. I treasure every friend I have and for that I am grateful they came along and made me happy! If only I can turn back the hands of time, I would rather be with real simple friends where genuine laughters and drama are being felt. No, I don't regret of where I am now and who I am with, only I get lonely sometimes and wished I was in the Philippines where family and friends were around.

Attached photos are shots of us last 2005 with my classmates in UCTC Caregiving School.

.... first photo was taken during our OJT at the hotel but before we start our job, we had to take a picture for remembrance...
.... second photo is of the same group as above sa may pilapil about to go "panginhas" in Lawis, Lapu-lapu City. It is an interesting picture of all shots we had because this was the last time I spent with them and 11 days after that, I flew to America for the first time leaving all my friends and family behind...

... this is again with my UCTC group in Lapu-lapu City plaza.. ah nothing is sweeter than remembering those good old times I had with my friends... ang bonding, ang mga kabuang etc...

The Scenes of The Past And Present

Yesterday morning at 5 a baby girl was born named Annette Abigail weighing 7.11 lbs in Harris Methodist hospital. She is Tony and Annie's baby. We visited the couple just hours later after the baby was delivered through C-section. It was so nice seeing the fresh newborn of the couple and here are the snaps we took. I was happy to see the gorgeous baby of my friend. She is blessed to have her in this world!

But before that, let me share the same scene that took place 16 months ago. I was the one whom they visited at the hospital giving birth to my Jadyn. I was the one who was in bed and it was Annie carrying my newborn. Photos below.

THE "BEFORE" SCENE

....the lady holding a baby is Annie and it's my Jadyn in her arms--- the newborn

THE PRESENT SCENE

.......... myself in my arms is baby Abigail and just born yesterday!
.... the present scene, isn't this look familiar to the one above way back 16 months ago? hmmm interesting isn't it?

How Did Our Weekend Go?

OH yeah it's manic Monday again. Meaning, baby and I are left in the house while the husband is gone doing his responsibility as the King of the house, work. Ok, how did our weekend go? Unlike everybody else, we do have a three-day weekend as always as my husband works ten a hours/4 days only.

On his first day off, we just stayed in the house being lazy and browsing on the internet. It was a gloomy Friday anyways, so it didn't hurt my butt just staying at home. Saturday, it was still a little bit cloudy but perfect enough for a long walk for we visited the Arts Festival in Main St.

... t'was like in a carnival for me because of the thick crowd and street entertainment I've seen as well as the colorful arts along the street........ of course our laag wouldn't be complete without these big yummylicious turkey leg and lemonade for my hungry stomach after such a long walk we had.. also turkey leg is the only thing I look forward of having during this kind of occasion..

... then the festival is not enough to end our day so we decided to visit the Water Garden which is just 2 or three blocks away from where the festival was held. ..
... my husband walking towards the very center of the garden walking without knowing I captured his back in a very nice view...

Sunday, yesterday, we then again had so much fun at my friend's house for Annie's baby shower party. There were only few of us and 5 babies in all that made the party looked bigger.

... see just count how many adults there are and the babies.......... it was a blast! seeing our cutie Americans around made the party even better! Our weekend was well spent with my family and friends.

A Weekend With My Friends

Thanks Rosalie for I had a great time hanging out with you and Annie yesterday. Until next time again hehe. It's so nice to spend time with filipino friends sometime to ease away loneliness and homesickness I feel in this completely strange world where there is no other family around but husband, baby and friends.

It was such a nice day yesterday although a little bit cooler perfect to be outside. I did not bring my baby with me because my husband volunteered to look after the baby while I am out there nagbiga! We went late to church and hear mass real quick and then headed to the newly opened seafood buffet resto and lastly did our long walk at the mall, window shopping. It was indeed a fun and enjoyable day for the wives.

Our Weekend Adventure

So how's your weekend everyone? Gotta enjoy it for it's gonna be the start of working day tomorrow. For us here, we just stayed at home doing chores. But yesterday we did have fun at a a friend's ranch. Mike, my husband's best buddy invited us to go down to where his daughter's fiance's ranch is.

The men enjoyed shooting at an open firing range they have while the girls that include Annette(Mike's daughter), Zoe the pretty kid, my baby and myself had fun riding the golf cart and had a tour around the property. It was a vast land big enough for me to practice driving the golf cart. I liked it there and would want to go back there when we have a chance.

I asked my husband to visit the ranch again and he said yes to me quickly because he himself loved it there, it's quiet, we can see some wild animals, can get some fresh air and what he likes so much is he can enjoy shooting with Mike. At the end of the day we grilled big meats of steaks and had dinner together before heading back to the city. All in all our adventure was a BLAST!

I'm ready to ride the horse but there's none, all they had were 4 cows and a donkey..

My husband, my baby and family friend, Mike
.. it was very very chilly and windy day at the ranch but it was ok, we had fun, I didn't mind the cold temperature..

Nice To Be With Friends Again

One of the many things I look forward to here in this lonely world is being with friends again. With them we can be like we're home. Filipino foods, big laugh and most of all never ending talks, all are talking at the same time are what we usually do being together. The American husbands just have no idea why we do that, it's just a filipina thing you know? Even we, cannot explain it haha..

Photos below were taken during Cassy's birthday last Oct.31. We celebrated Madel's baby's first birthday at Rose's house. 'twas nice and we had so much fun as usual.
