The city we currently live in doesn't allow car porch visible or hidden in the backyard. For a reason it decreases the value of the area. As you may not know it, Edgecliff Village is a well-maintained small city located in Fort Worth. You will see how ideal the place can be when you come visit and see it for yourself. One of the city's regulations is prohibiting the residents putting up car porches. My husband want one but he works for the government and he doesn't want to ruin that so what he is thinking to have instead of a car porch is to get an enclosed metal building in his side of the backyard.
He needs it so he can work in his cars under the shade and not to wait for the sun to come down. He is now looking at metal buildings online and so far he hasn't found that can stand the harsh weather, the one that will last for a long time and something that is appealing to him. Well, since I found American Steel Span today, might as well recommend to him this site so he can browse for metal buildings himself and see if there is one building there that he would love and buy.
