Long Distance Relationship

I am happy for my brother and his wife and son because they are now reunited in Iceland. He arrived there two days ago! I can only imagine the sacrifices they made and how much they missed each other for they have been in a long distance relationship for over a year. I can relate to this for we too, my husband and I were once in the same situation 7 years ago.

We got married in the Philippines and waited for the spousal visa for 9 months for the immigration to approve our application. The whole time we were separated as a couple was difficult although we maintained constant communication but that didn't seem enough for us. There were a few occasions we missed celebrating together just because we were thousands of miles apart. Birthdays, Christmas and our first wedding anniversary were missed but he never failed sending flowers by post each time there is an occasion coming.

He would order it on the internet and he would always choose big red roses in a vase for his wife. How flattering that was! He knew I love red roses that is why he would only send me red roses and usually a dozen of it.

After 9 months of waiting, we were able to join together here in the U.S and we couldn't be happier. We now live in our own house with a yard large enough to plant lots of flowers and make a vegetable garden. I love gardening so growing fresh vegetables and roses and other types of flowering plants is not a problem to me.

Flowers From My Garden

It's the first time my Bearded Iris plants give me some flowers. For two years they were planted in a pot, I don't remember they gave me blooms like that in the picture. I decided to cut the Bearded Iris because the flowers are too heavy and the stem can no longer hold it up and it fell to the ground.

The roses were taken from an old rose plant hidden behind the pile of woods in the backyard. I didn't know they were there and then one day I came close to the main branch and saw them. I am glad I have them in my bathroom sink, they give me such sweet fragrance that plastic ones don't.

More Flowers

I guess this is going to be the last batch of tulip flower shots I'm posting here. Time to move on to another batch of different kinds next time. Looking at those healthy big flowers makes me wanna go back to Dallas and stay there for one whole day. I just can't get enough of them. So beautiful out there that the flowers alone makes you forget of the worries and problems you have in your mind.

......... and that is me above with pink, purple and white tulips...

Freshly Cut Flowers

I do not regret I bought several bulbs of Paperwhites 3 weeks ago. Look at these beautiful white blooms I got here, soooo pure and so white eh. The plant is called paperwhites and it give me such sweet aroma when you enter the house. It is an indoor plant, so growing it isn't so hard. I placed 3 pots of it near the front door where they can have some sun early morning which helps them grow so fast and bear flowers.

......photo above is shot of my flowers freshly cut straight from the pot where I originally planted them..

...above photo are my paperwhites in a pot. ...there are more blooms coming so excited to cut them again and put in a flower vase.

Family Weekend At The Flower Garden

Oh well, looks like I am going to be staying in the house for the rest of the week until the next weekend because my husband is going to work in his 2 days off at the speedway. Good thing though we were able to go out today, enjoyed the fine weather at the Japanese and Rose garden today with my family.

After spending an hour and a half over there we proceeded to Tom Thumb and did our grocery shopping. That is how our day went. Tomorrow until next Thursday will be my normal day in the house... hmmm but anyways, I really had so much fun looking at the scenic views here in Fort Worth.

...... a quick pose with the pretty flowering shurb.. I don't know what's its name though.
... my mag-ama by the water fountain. Dada was having a hard time to keep Jadyn from walking from the camera..

.... still my mag-ama in an open wide space at the Rose garden

Texas Fall Blooms

Photos below are just one of the many species of flowers planted in Dallas Arboretum. They are the Texas Fall blooms that entice tons of visitors each day. I have never been to a place like this so for me, it's like a paradise over there perfect for the whole family to see.
I told my husband to visit the Arboretum more often as they keep changing the plants each season. Next year, if I am lucky I will be able to see tulips in Spring!
