Search For That Dream Home

I always thought that people who built or bought a house near the beach are lucky. For I know buying a property with a very good view at the ocean cost a fortune. And if I were to retire or given a chance to choose where should I live, I would gladly buy a property somewhere I can have plenty of sunshine, cooler temperature, a sandy long beach and most of all a place that doesn't get very hot when it's summer yet cooler during Winter. I picture out, life would be so good if ever this search for that dream home will come to reality.

No Ash To Clean

I see most houses old and new are built with fireplace in them. I see not all people are using their fireplace during Winter and I can only understand why. Fireplaces can sometimes be a mess, why? Because if you light it up of course the logs are burning and produce smoke and ash. Cleaning up the ash is such a trouble so they would rather be using their heater than enjoy the heat that their fireplace can give. There is a great alternative to that, an electric fireplace mantel can be beautiful center piece in your living at the same time it replaces the real fire place by simply plugging it in, sit back and enjoy the electric fireplace. It has become very popular nowadays because of their imitation look of masonry fireplaces.

Searching For A Property To Buy?

Thanks to real estate broker websites for they help people making their search for their home easier. I cannot imagine a world where you need to find that dream house of yours and you have no idea where to start your search because no internet or no websites that you can go to in order to begin your home searching. With real estate broker sites, you will be finding specific brokers in your area that could help you through the whole process until you can find what you are looking for. For sure these brokers are knowledgeable enough of the properties they are presenting. Also they can pretty much give you an idea on what sort of house is suitable for single person or with family and such. If you may, please visit the link above and explore virtually. Hope this helps!

Going Back To Hawaii

I just heard recently that a couple I knew from the internet from the past now going back to Hawaii. They once lived there but moved in to US mainland due to her husband's job, he is in the military and as you expected they keep going to different places. They had a house in Hawaii and they sold it before they moved here in the mainland and now that they are going back to the island they used to live, they are looking for a house again to live in. Gladly, I have a bookmarked page of Hawaii real estate, I can just give the website address to the wife so she can start browsing for properties in Hawaii. She was saying, a small and warm house will be good for them because they never know if they are going to move again somewhere or not. Life of a military. I wish them luck because I know it can be tiring at times too when you don't have a permanent place to stay, you will leave your friends behind and much worse you always have to start from the beginning, adjusting to your new environment and etc.

Hawaii Houses

Are you looking forward to relocating in Hawaii or ever dreamed of living in Hawaii in the future? If yes, then that is so nice of you. When we speak of Hawaii, the very first thing that comes in my mind is hot tropical climate, plenty of beaches, adventure, surfing and most of all expensive cost of living. But despite of that I still think living in Hawaii would be cool. I wish you the best if you pursue your plans of relocating there. One most important thing to do before doing the big move is to look for Hawaii houses. I know it will take time for people to look for that ideal home they are going to live in eventually but with the help of American Dream Realty, everything will be possible and the company should help people find their dream home.

He's Responsible

I have an impression of a person that holds a home mortgage, that he is a responsible person. Why I say this? Because he likes to have responsibilities to take care of such as home mortgage and other stuff every month and for that I salute him or her. It's just one way of showing to the world that he can stand on his or her own feet and makes his life better.

Mirrors On The Wall

I don't believe one can live without a mirror or two in his or her house. We all need it for the same purpose just so we can take a good look of ourselves before facing our visitors or going out, to ensure that we dressed well and that we don't have any flaws that others might see, do you agree? Mirrors don't only serve their purpose, they also add beauty to our walls such as these Contemporary floor mirror and Decorative mirror for bathrooms.

The decorative mirrors for the bathrooms especially have unique shape that your partner might want to have in the house. I know a person who admires art and for that this kind of mirror can make a great gift on his birthday for his bathroom. Now I know what kind of gift should I buy for him in the next couple of weeks.

What Catches My Attention

When I go to a house or an establishment where I can have all the time to see all the beautiful things inside of that place, the very first that could catch my attention is the modern furniture. Like for instance, when we went to check in at one of the Air Force Village's guest rooms, the moment I entered the door, I saw this neatly arranged dining table just adjacent to the small bar they have. When I went to the bedroom, there it was a nice contemporary bedroom with all the matching bedding and bed skirting in blue just wowed me. I am not into furniture but I can appreciate fine furniture if I see one.

A Nice Walk Today

My big girl Jadyn, Chicha and I had a nice walk at our neighborhood today. Though we didn't go too far yet it was enough for us to have some fresh air, exercise a bit and watched the ducks floating in a small pond in the village. It is cloudy today alright but the temperature is just right for us to be able to enjoy it. Here are a few snaps of the pond and the ducks and the bird and the not so colorful street leading to our house.

....... the ponds we love to stop by and watch the ducks as they float on the water

...... yep it's that cloudy today yet the temperature is kinda warm so we went out for a short walk...
...... our street .....going home this time..

Several Bathrooms

The advantage of having two or more bathrooms in the house is that you don't have to wait for somebody to get done using the bathroom when you feel like using it because since you have a spare bathroom, you can just get in there and relieve yourself. I have experienced several times from the past, I had to wait for my husband taking a shower while I was suffering, holding the call of nature for too long didn't feel good.

Now that we moved in to our own house and we have three bathrooms to use, I am comfortable. We are done doing the two bathrooms, the master bath and Jadyn's bathroom are repainted, toilet bowls replaced, new flooring is on and most of all we made it like new. The third bathroom is yet to be fixed. To do that, I need to browse at betterbathrooms.com so I can get ideas on what to do with the third one. It should be nice and neat since it is going to be our guest's bathroom in the future.

In Preparation For Summer

Just few more days and the dreaded Summer will be here. We haven't bought a ceiling fan yet to put in our bedroom. I hope we will be able to look around for large ceiling fans like this Minka Aire I am staring at right now so we will be ready to face the hottest season of the year. Yes, we got smaller A/C units that we can put in our bedroom but still we need a ceiling fan to spread the cool air in the entire room. Same goes with my baby girl's bedroom, she also need one there. I guess I have to remind my husband about buying the ceiling fans soon.

Bathroom Faucets

..........below is my husband caught in action working the plumbing under the sink. He installed the faucets in our bathroom sinks but he isn't finished yet, lacking some parts underneath that would make the two hot and cold water tubes connected to the main plumbing and gets the water to flow. Hopefully, he can do the job right to avoid paying someone to do the job for him. I know it's going to cost and as much as possible we do the work that we capable to do to save money.

New Flooring And Toilet Installed

After a quiet a while of waiting to change our bathroom flooring, it has now installed. Two weeks ago the flooring guy came over for the third time to finish Jadyn's bathroom installing the floor and just last weekend, my husband installed the new toilet. I felt relieved for I no longer have to deal with slow flusher old toilet.
....... above is of the new vinyl bamboo look flooring in the second bathroom... and below is the not so fancy shiny new toilet that Jadyn is going to use when she is potty trained.
... photo below is of the master bath which I include here for you to peek. It used to have a dark red carpet here that looks gross...

Master Bath Makeover

Here are the BEFORE and AFTER photos of our master bath. When I first entered this bathroom before the makeover, it felt spooky and dark and didn't like it. So what we do here is totally changed the color of the wall, removed the wallpaper and painted with white. The floor is replaced with bamboo style vinyl.

BEFORE PHOTOS

.... you see the dark walls here and the very old toilet...just disgusting... not to mention the carpeted floor in the bathroom... hello??? nothing more yucky than having an old rotten kind of damp maroon carpet where you relieve and shower yourself...

AFTER PHOTOS

.......... and here's the job we did in the bathroom. We changed the wall into white, I painted the cabinets with white, replaced the toilet with a new one and have some color coordination in this area which is green.
.... photo below is a shot taken from my side of the sink looking into the shower. I painted both sink walls light blue that matches the color in the hallway...
So tell me if we are doing a good job here lolz.. more home improvement photos to come in the future.

Termites Problem

I believe we got a problem with termites in the house. First sign we noticed the presence of termites is, when we first moved in 5 months ago, the wall and the baseboards in the study were kind of rotten and there were dirt along the side of the floor near the window facing the road, this is exactly where those ancient bushes are.

Second termite sign is the baseboard in the second bathroom underneath the sink. It was my husband who saw it, the wood was eaten by these creatures and now in the ceiling in the hallway. He removed its hive the other day and now they are back again. This is scary and troubling. For sure when the guy gets here to examine the house, he would give us an estimate that is shocking only to cure these pests to get rid of them.

Before And After

Photos below show the difference of our study room. My husband did a good job in transforming our study from dull to refreshingly cool room. He even carefully culk the cracks that run across the room in between the wall and the wood paneling .

....below is the old study room shot, as you can see it looks dull and very dark, the yellow carpet which is over ten years old that looks gross.
.......this photo is the current look of our study. hubby just finished working in this part of the house. he painted it meadow light and white ceiling. we used light blue curtain here to match our hall way which is also light blue. the carpet and wall definitely are a match too!

filters and more

Lately I hear my husband complaining about the taste of filtered water coming from our refrigerator. It's tasteless, he said. I too, noticed it but I just don't complain about it. I told him why not consider buying a filter online and look at different prices including HAVC filter so we don't keep drinking this water that we don't like? Water filtration is important so we don't consume all the minerals that is in the water, with that said, we really need to put a water filter in our kitchen faucet too because I often use water for my cooking unfiltered.

Study Room Is Ready

Our study is ready and all it needs now is to set up the desktop computer and furniture. Today my husband kept himself busy by putting up all the curtains that we bought yesterday at Ross and Lowe's. He is making a big job in doing those and I applaud him for that. The study room especially because it looks so pretty and cool to the eyes.

He painted the walls meadow light, same to our bedroom with matching greenish silvery carpet. To top with that, we bought a light blue curtain that makes BIG PLEATS which matches the hallway. For me, it's near perfect. I also put one of my indoor live plants near the window to make the look fresh. Unfortunately though I can't share pic just yet as our digital camera is dead and my cellphone is out of service.

need more office furniture

We are so ready to set up our study room. My husband made a good job in painting our study and transformed it like new. He culked, repaired the cracks on the wall and ceiling. He is a perfectionist type of person and he wants everything be done according to his wants. He painted it meadow light which is the same color as our bedroom. It's amazing how a new paint can do to an older house yet retain its original siding.

In his day off, we plan of buying curtains for our study and probably look for a new office furniture. We have few of them but they are very old. In fact, the ones that are in the study right now are what he's planning of using but geezzz they look so ugly that they don't match the newly painted room.
